2024 Santa Monica Animal Shelter Open House Fundraiser

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our third Annual Santa Monica Animal Shelter Open House Fundraiser and helped make the day a success! From the event participants to volunteers to everyone who came and donated to support us to help the animals at the shelter, Thank You!

The fundraiser was on Saturday, June 1st from 12-3pm at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter: 1640 9th St. Santa Monica, CA 90404.

At the event

  • Adopt-Tour the animal shelter & meet the wonderful animals waiting to be adopted-adoption fees will be reduced at the fundraiser

  • Councilmember Gleam Davis will be sponsoring the first dog and the first cat that are adopted at the event and will be gifting each of them a curated gift bag filled with toys, treats and more

Gift Certificates:

  • Arthur Murray Dance Studios- Gift certificate for two private lessons valued at $240.

  • Burger Lounge-Two $50 gift cards, total value $100.

  • Casa Del Mar Hotel by the Sea-Gift certificate for one night’s stay in a deluxe king room, valued at $1026.00.

  • Cassia Restaurant - Gift certificate for $100.

  • Cobi’s Restaurant-Gift certificate for $150.

  • Digital art by Kell- Custom portrait of your pet printed on a 8x10in poster, valued at $85. Kellin is the amazing artist who created our wonderful logo.

  • Jameson’s Pub-Gift certificate for $50.

  • LA Opera-Two complimentary orchestra level tickets to the closing night of Turandot at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 7:30pm.

  • Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament- 2 tickets valued at $124.

  • Pacific Park-2 unlimited ride passes for Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier, valued at $100.

  • Pasjoli Restaurant-Gift certificate for $100.

  • Pro SUP Shop-Tickets for 4 rental paddle boards from the Pro SUP Shop. Paddle in beautiful Marina del Rey, LA’s place for fun on the water, animals are welcome here, so if your furry friend likes to get his or their paws wet, this is the place to go.  Total value approx. $210. Open Monday-Sunday, 9am-5pm, last rental back at 6pm.

  • Santa Monica Proper Hotel-Gift certificate for one night’s stay in a deluxe room.

  • Six Flags Magic Mountain- 2 one day admission vouchers for 2024 Season valued at $240.

  • Six Flags Hurricane Harbor-2 one day admission vouchers for 2024 Season valued at $139.98.

Gift Baskets:

  • Buon Gusto Farms-Gift basket filled with a selection of Buon Gusto Farms Olive Oil and Vinegar valued at $85: a 1-liter bottle, 375ml bottle and a 5oz bottle of Buenaventura Estate Olive Oil and a 5oz bottle of Balsamic Vinegar. 

  • Palms & Paws Veterinary Center-Gift basket.

  • Peet’s Coffee Montana Ave. location-Gift basket filled with over $100 of Peet’s Coffee goods: 16 oz bag of Anniversary Blend coffee beans, 20 oz MIIR Flip Traveler Tumbler and 20 oz Bodum French Press.

  • Santa Monica Police Department-Gift basket from Santa Monica Police Chief Batista’s office.

  • Santa Monica Veterinary Group-We have two different gift baskets.

  • Starbucks-Gift basket with $55 of Starbucks goods.

Raffle tickets were available for a donation at the fundraiser on June 1st from 12-3pm. The raffle took place at the end of the event at 3pm, all winners who were not present were contacted. Items must be picked up by the winner at the Animal Shelter by June 30th.

Ride-Along with the Santa Monica Harbor Officers-The wonderful opportunity to ride on a Harbor Patrol rescue boat and see Santa Monica in a new way.

  • 1-hour Santa Monica Harbor tour

  • Ride with the Santa Monica Harbor Officers on the Monica 1

  • Invite up to 10 guests to join you on this unique experience, participants must be at least 8 years old.

Last year’s winner enjoying their time with the Santa Monica Police Forensics Department.

Learning Experience with the Santa Monica Police Forensics Department-A very unique opportunity to spend ½ day (4 -6 hours) in the laboratory with Forensics.

  • Lab Tour

  • History of friction ridge (fingerprints) and review the process of the development in the lab

  • History of forensic science

  • Collection of evidence in the field (lab setting or tow yard)

  • Preserving evidence for probative value

  • Development of forensic evidence in the lab (to include making chemicals/using the chemicals on the evidence they collected/developing the evidence for court)

  • How they locate suspects using the automated fingerprint identification system

  • Presenting evidence to Detectives as a potential Lead

All silent auction items are available to bid on in person only at the fundraiser from 12-3pm on June 1st. At the conclusion of the event we will contact the highest bid.

All the items in our raffle and silent auction were all generously donated. We are very thankful for all the support!

All funds we raise go to the Santa Monica Animal Shelter and make a difference in the care and well-being of the animals.
