Santa Monica City Council Highlighted Pet

During 2023 our wonderful Mayor Gleam Davis highlighted an available pet at every city council meeting. But, when her term was up the City Council stopped highlighting the animals at the shelter. If they resume we will post the highlighted pets here as we did before. But, you can still help by adopting, sponsoring any of the available pets or by shopping the Chewy wish list.

Adopt

The Santa Monica Animal Shelter has many wonderful dogs, cats and rabbits that can’t wait to meet you, click on the button below to view all the animals that are available for adoption at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter.

Sponsor

Even if you are not able to adopt an animal you can still help by sponsoring any of the available pets. Your donation will help to keep the pet healthy, and happy, while they are waiting for their forever home.

12.12.23-The Santa Monica City Council meeting highlighted Mittens:

Hi! My name is Mittens! I am a 2-year-old neutered male Tuxedo cat, and I've been at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter since September. I am very confident and adventurous. I love to be involved in whatever you are doing.

While I like humans, I do not like other animals and would prefer to be an only pet. I have become a shelter favorite, and any of the staff members would love to tell you all about how great I am! If you think we would be a good match, please come visit me!

Update:

1.2024-Mittens has been adopted!

I enjoy lots of pets and attention, but I also am a huge coach potato who just loves to hangout in bed and watch the birds fly by. I am social and would benefit from having another playful cat in the house. I am current on all of my shots and I’m microchipped. Griselda is currently available for adoption at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter.
